Tip 38: Go outside and play!

Yay! Its Summer!  Although it's not my personal favorite season, summer is great for a lot of reasons: days off from work/school, nice weather, and plenty of fun outdoor activities!

Summer is the season that we all work hard for during the year. For some that means fitting into that bikini that you hung on your kitchen wall to keep you motivated (and away from the cookies). For others, its being able to walk on the beach as a lighter person, and feeling less sweaty and gross when its hot outside.

Summer is also the season of barbecues, parties, and other indulgence into sweet food.

To stay fit this summer, you should....

Tip 38: Go outside and play!

Click "read more" for some great ideas on how to get outside and get moving to have fun and burn calories at the same time!

There are so many activities you can do outside! The following lists are segregated by location. :)

There are countless possibilities! There are plenty of fun activities for the whole family that will keep you active.

But always keep in mind that it IS hot outside! You should know (and be able to recognize) the following symptoms. Heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses can be very scary or deadly if you don't get help or get inside! If you do, get indoors (or in the shade if it isn't too hot)! And pour yourself a tall glass of iced water! Also keep in mind that every body is different, some might have symptoms that others might not. Its better to be safe than sorry. :)

Signs of heat stroke
- nausea/vomiting
- fatigue
- weakness
- headaches
- muscle cramps/aches
- high body temperature,
- hot red or flushed dry skin,
- rapid pulse
- difficulty breathing,
- hallucinations, confusion, agitation, disorientation
(You can learn more about heat stroke and other heat-related illnesses HERE.)

And just because I couldn't resist, here are some great pictures of me and Bret on a hike we took last weekend in Bushkill Falls, PA.

Plenty of stairs and rocks and exercise! Oh, and plenty of beautiful scenery (and photos!).

Have fun outside!
