Tip 11: Once a Week!

did you know that your weight fluctuates naturally from day to day, and throughout the day, by up to 3 pounds?!

That means that on monday you could be 198, and on tuesday you can be 201, and on wed you could be 197! Thats so confusing! Which number do you believe? If youre on a diet, these changing numbers might discourage you, and make you feel hopeless.

Don't feel hopeless! The change from day to day is useless...you need to compare week to week.

Tip 11: Weigh yourself once a week, at the same time, on the same day.

If you weigh yourself every day of the week for one week, you will notice that your weight is never the same! The same goes for if you weight yourself two or more times a day.

Body weight naturally changes throughtout the day, and on a daily basis. Water retention, weight from eaten food, loss of digested food, all  impact how much we weigh.

You should only weigh yourself once a week for many reasons, the most obvious being that if you lose and gain and lose and gain according to your daily measurements, not only is this overall inaccurate, but youll get discouraged! i know i would!

just because you eat perfectly one day and work out, doesnt mean the next morning you will have instantly lost 5 pounds. think about it- after a "perfect day," if you saw an increased number beneath your feet, wouldnt you give up?

try to weigh yourself once a week, on the same day at the same time. that is most accurate. tracking the numbers, from week to week, will give you a good idea of how youre losing. (i personally picked thursday mornings)

if you get tempted to weigh yourself more than once a week (i know i do), don't take the number to heart- it doesn't matter- only your "official" weigh-in does! use an increased number to work harder, and if you have a decreased number- don't you dare slack off! haha

Wish me luck- tomorrow morning i weigh in! :D
